On Sunday October 24th, 2010 we took a dive up to the Ahtanum State Forest. We stopped by Test Dummy’s house to let him know where we where headed in case we did not make it back.
Here are a few pictures of the day.
A nice Fall day at the Ahtanum State Forest.
Checking out the Ahtanum Sno-park.
There were a few Hunters Camps but no one around.
We next headed up the Mid Fork Road.
It started snowing on the way up. It was starting to accumulate by Tree Phones Campground and the road was white just up the road.
It got a little slick so we just went as far as Eagle Nest.
We turned on to the Eagle Nest Vista Loop and parked near the trail head.
My new dog Ranger wasn’t sure about the white stuff at first.
The kids wanted out to play. Of course they did not have their snow gear.
Sami had to run the tire tracks to get around.
Here Sami is trying follow Ranger.
Not bad amount of snow at Eagle Nest for this time of year.
We did not stay long at Eagle Nest since the wind starting to snow drift the road down.
Down at Tree Phone the snow was coming a lot more than when we past through earlier.
I had to get a fall picture of the Mid Fork on the way down.
We past through the Ahtanum Sno-park and headed up A2400. We found the user made trail we block off two weeks before was reopened.
Good place for the trail cam since some does not want to follow the rules.
Up at Red Saddle there was a trace of snow.
Taking a look down Sedge Ridge 4×4 Trail.
We headed on down and out the South Fork Road.
On this day we saw a lot of camps but no one around.
We did pass one pickup on A2400. It was a quiet day at the Ahtanum State Forest.
